Size isn’t everything that matters, and when it comes to gargantuan LED displays, it’s application is as important as its sqaure footage. After all, what use is a giant screen if you can’t enjoy what’s being shown on it?
6 – FREMONT ST. EXPERIENCE
Massive in area, and an evolution of a legendary light show experience that Fremont St. has been showcasing for decades. This new iteration is up to 90 ft high and over 1300 ft long, boasting 130,000 square feet of LED screen making it the largest in the world!
5 – SOFI STADIUM INFINITY SCREEN
The home of the NFL’s Rams and Chargers, the 100,000 person capacity stadium showcases a double sided 70,000 square foot 4k LED screen. Showing 80 million pixels and weighing a whopping 2.2 million pounds, the “Infinity Screen” also adds more than 1.3 million watts of amplification to the experience.
4 – MERCEDES BENZ STADIUM HALO
Another NFL venue on the list, I guess you need lots of screens to watch lots of slo-mo replays. The Atlanta Falcons venue shows off the “Halo”, another circulr display hanging high above the turf at Mercedes Benz stadium. At 61,900 Square feet and 1,075 feet in circumference, the Halo is big enough to fly a helicopter through.
3 – THE PLACE
A giant ceiling LED experience in Beijing suspended between two retail spaces, this 800 foot long display took more than 3 years to complete and is comprised of five separate screens that can display individual imagery or combine into one giant immersive LED display.
2 – RESORTS WORLD
At 100,000 square feet, the Resorts World West Tower screen stands on the side of the Resorts World Hotel in Las Vegas and measures 294 feet high and 340 feet wide. It is made up of 3,552 individual LED panels and is so bright (8,000nit) that it can still be viewed during the day in the blaring Las Vegas sunshine!
1 – THE SPHERE
No list would be complete without the greatest screen on earth – The Sphere. It’s the highest resolution screen on the planet at 16,000 x 16,000 and is estimated at 268,435,456 pixels! The exterior of The Sphere is also a fully programmable LED display and shows 256 Million colours to display a myriad of moving imagery and static displays and covers the 17,000 seat concert venue.
